Set Point

When the Set Point command is selected in the Parametric Frame Builder Action list box, the settings group for that command displays directly to the right of the Action list box.

The Set Point command manages settings to set the position of the frame origin.

SettingDescription
Set Point command settings group

The following settings are available when the Set Point command is selected.

  • Origin Offset — Offsets the placement origin for the entire frame.
  • Origin X, Y, Z — Enter values in the X, Y, and Z fields to define the new location for the frame origin. Or enter mnemonic values in the X, Y, and Z fields to set parameters described in the following table.

    Field

    Mnemonic

    Distance

    X

    RH

    Horizontal recess.

    TH

    Horizontal tolerance.

    RR

    Roller blind recess.

    Y

    WI

    Thickness, interior wall.

    CA

    Thickness, cavity.

    WE

    Thickness, exterior wall.

    Z

    RV

    Vertical recess.

    TV

    Vertical tolerance.

Note: Mnemonic values can be used when creating parametric frames. A mnemonic value is an arithmetic function used as a substitute for a real number. For example, a dimension (or distance) for frame width can be defined as W1/3, where width is divided by three. The advantage of using mnemonic values is to enable a parametric frame to maintain its proportions regardless of modifications to the frame size.
